Managing collaborative file sharing between partner organizations should be easy – yet often presents significant challenges because basic tools were not designed to support ecosystem scale. For example, if one organization wants to “drop” some files to 30 partners in its ecosystem using traditional storage solutions, it would literally have to do it 30 times—once for each partner. But of course, different partners organizations often use different file sharing tools, which means this can’t even be done. Rather, existing solutions tend to involve complex integrations, with disparate third-party platforms that require additional access permissions and login credentials – making the step of sharing files from one partner organization to another difficult. All this results in delays and potential privacy and security risks. All this leaves organizational users with the less-than-ideal option of defaulting back to email attachments, especially in scenarios involving multiple parties. Ultimately, this hinders the seamless exchange of information, lowering productivity and collaboration across partner organizations within an ecosystem.
